Van der Drift defends Black Beauty in Superleague Formula

MILTON KEYNES, 17 June 2011 – Chris van der Drift returns in Superleague Formula. The 25 year old Kiwi will race for Team New Zealand during the weekend of 17th of July at the Belgian Circuit Zolder. After a successful start in the race series last year, Van der Drift is determined to win races again.

“Finally I am back in these famous colors”

“It has been a while since the last time I was behind the wheel of Superleague Formula and I’m really looking forward to it”, says Van der Drift. He scored four victories and another six podium finishes in just the first half of last season. Luckily he already has some race laps under his belt this year. “Thanks for Mofaz Racing I was asked to complete in the first four races of the World Series by Renault and managed to secure a podium finish in Spa and many other points finishes, although I’m ready to win again now!”

His return in Superleague Formula is very special as he is able to represent his country again. “It has been a few years now since Black Beauty was alive in the now defunct A1GP championship where I was lucky enough to compete for my country for the two races in Chengdu and Taupo”, says Van der Drift. “It gives me great pride that I am able to do that again, in a car that I know and a car that I have won in before. Bring on Zolder!”
